Hi everyone,

We are very pleased to share the 6P Child Rights-Based (CRB) online e-learning resource with you! This redesigned and updated CRB course incorporates feedback from the course pilot which took place at the end of last year. Thanks to all those who have been involved in this intense period of activity.

This course has been developed with content for orientated to the needs of Programme Officers: staff members designing and implementing programmes in the field of child abuse. It consists of four sections:

  • Section 1, Introduction: provides a basic introduction to the principle and its importance
  • Section 2: Foundations: includes modules covering concepts and theory
  • Section 3: Application: explores the practical implementation of the principle both in organisational process and in programming outcomes
  • Section 4: Resources: resources referred to during the courses together with others that you may find interesting for your work

This is the first e-learning course in the series being developed by the 6P Capacity Development Programme open to the whole 6 Principles Community of Practice membership and is intended as a foundational course to be undertaken before the others in the series.

Enrolment:

Please send Niru (n.shaathvegan@ioe.ac.uk) the names and email addresses of colleagues in your organisation who would like to participate in this course. They will then be enrolled and will receive the link to the course so that they can access it when they wish to.

If you would like to share the CRB course with members of your partner organisations, please let us know so that we can discuss how you would like us to support facilitating that process.

Certificates

Once an participant has sucessfully completed the course, we will be very happy to reward them with a course completion certificate.

Feedback

We are very interested to receive feedback. There is a course evaluation at the end of the course and you are also very welcome to provide any further feedback to us directly at peter@crp-6principles.net,   annabel@crp-6principles.net or n.shaathvegan@ioe.ac.uk

Other courses

We are in the process of finalising the other 6P Programme Officer courses on Best Interests, Non-Discrimination, Participation, Respect and Build on Strengths and Do No Harm. These will be shared as soon as they are available. Recommendations have been collected for training resources for the range of other functions within an organisation (from support staff to board members) and we look forward to developing these in the future in collaboration with the 6P CoP.

We hope that you enjoy the CRB course and find it a useful tool for building capacity on applying a child rights-based approach within your organisation and with and for the children that you work with.

Warm wishes,

Annabel, Niru, and Peter
