International Centre: researching child sexual exploitation, violence and trafficking
We're very pleased to introduce you to Claire Cody, Research Fellow based at the ‘International Centre: researching child sexual exploitation, violence and trafficking’ at the University of Bedfordshire in the UK. She would very much like to hear from others who are are working on sexual violence. Please see her message here:
I work on a project called ‘Our Voices Too’ which promotes the involvement of young people in efforts to prevent and respond to sexual violence in Europe. As part of this project we are undertaking a ‘scoping’ in Eastern Europe to identify:
- Organisations with expertise in child participation and youth advocacy specifically with ‘marginalised’ children and young people.
- Projects that have developed ‘innovative’ examples of participatory practice.
If you have documentation of projects or contact details of organisations you could share, then please get in touch with me on firstname.lastname@example.org.
As part of this project we have also developed a European network for professionals who are interested in developing a better understanding of the value and ethics of participatory engagement with young people affected by sexual violence. This network will develop, with the support of network members, a number of online resources and events that will critically explore participatory research and practice and create a space for dialogue. This includes a podcast series, blog, peer learning projects and the development of a series of case studies exploring ethical dilemmas. There will also be the opportunity for some members to attend face to face events.
If you are interested in joining the network then please sign up on our website to receive updates and newshttps://www.our-voices.org.uk/network/join.

Many thanks and very best wishes, ClaireWe're sure that Claire's work connects with work in several organisations in the the 6P CoP. If there is strong interest in discussing this issue further, and how you can collaborate with Claire, we'd be happy to set up a thematic working space.
